Outplacement / Career Management Service

Our professional outplacement service is very important in the redundancy process, as it compliments the internal procedures and ensures that staff who have been selected for redundancy feel they are fully supported by the company at this highly stressful and difficult time. It also helps that the outplacement support is from an objective 3rd party, who has considerable experience in this highly sensitive area. In addition, it can assist in mitigating against future claims by identifying and dealing with any issues or problems that may come to light during the counselling session. We also offer a session on the intricacies of the redundancy process, assisting the staff member understand the complex legal framework, helping them to clarify the process and ensure they are aware of the issues involved.

Details of the services:

The core meeting takes 2 hours and involves input from 2 senior HRP professionals with considerable counselling/recruitment experience. The process includes:

  1. Review of current CV and critique of same
  2. Mock Interview
  3. Clear appraisal, review and best practice training on interview skills
  4. Interview techniques including the HRP 7 skills of successful interviewing
  5. Myers Briggs Type Psychometric Test - Personality and Career Indicator
  6. Discussion of test outcomes
  7. Discussion of career strategy, goal setting and identifying company's/roles to target
  8. Help to look for a Job
  9. Skills & Techniques to conduct a great interview.

In addition, clients can avail of our redundancy counselling service, which complements the above but also goes through the redundancy process with the employee in finer detail with a qualified HR practitioner:

This part takes an additional hour and involves:

  1. The legal framework of redundancy i.e. the legislation, selection process, statutory forms etc.
  2. Clarification of the definition of redundancy i.e. that the role is redundant not the person
  3. Dealing with the paperwork - where to go next - i.e. Social Welfare etc
